The races start at 8:00 a.m at Oscar Frazier Park, 8th/Shults Road, Bluffton, SC 29910
(turn off of Hwy 46 @ Pin Oak (between Dollar General & Squat N Gobble)
The 2.5 mile runs go through Old Town Bluffton; the bike is flat and fast and goes out Bluffton Parkway to a turn around near Bluffton High School. (NOTE: Though police will be present to assist with traffic control, the roads ARE NOT CLOSED! Cyclist MUST ride conscious of traffic in the area, traffic lights, and intersections! There will be an aid station on the run course but none on the bike.
The 4.2K (2.5 mi) road race is also the first run of the duathlon.
At packet pick up, each participant will be provided a run number that must be shown on the front of their body and a bike number that will be attached to the frame.
Awards: Overall Male & Female, Masters Male & Female; Grandmasters Male & Female, top 3 male & female each age group (5 year increments). We will offer post race food and beverages (we are not offering adult beverages so BYOB should you so desire) and will hold the awards ceremony as soon as possible after results are tallied! We don't mail awards unless arrangements are otherwise made.
Shirts: Each person registered before March 12, 2014 will receive a race shirt. The shirts will be cotton uni-sex so size accordingly.
Packet pick up and late registration will take place only at the race site from 7:00 - 7:45 a.m. The transition area will open at 7:00 a.m. Should you be there earlier, we'll put you to work!
Parking is available at the park.
The duathlon is United States Triathlon Association (USAT) sanctioned. USAT rules will apply. You will either have to have a current USAT license or purchase a one day license at the time of registration for the event. This option is offered during the registration process! For further information on USAT, please visit their web site at: www.usatriathlon.org. Please note that if you are racing the duathlon, you, and only you, can pick up your packet. You must have a picture ID and if a USAT member, present your USAT card. If you've lost your card, you can print one from the USAT web site.
