Hickory Knob State Park is hosting the XTERRA Hickory Knob Triathlon in South Carolina this year on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. Swim 800 meters in Lake Strom Thurmond, mountain bike 2 loops of the 7.2 mile Lakeview Trail, and run 5 miles taking in the Turkey Ridge Loop Trail and you've knocked it out!
Hickory Knob Resort State Park is located in McCormick, SC. It is approximately 2.5 hours from Atlanta, 1 hour from Columbia, SC; and 1 hour 45 minutes from Greenville, SC. The race is open to individuals and relay teams but the total number of participants is limited to 200. The first 50 registered on line will receive hoodies. All registered before March 9 will receive race shirts. (No guarantee of size or availability after that date.)
The race is being sanctioned with USAT. USAT membership or a 1 day ($12.00) license is required. 1 day licenses cannot be purchased on line but will be available at packet pick up. USAT rules will apply, including, rules regarding the use of wetsuits during the swim. You know...water temps and all of that!
Packet pick up will be announced closer to the race date.

Hickory Knob State Park is hosting the XTERRA Hickory Knob Trail Runs/Races in McCormick, South Carolina this year on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 8:00 a.m.
The 3.4 mile race on the Turkey Ridge Loop (2 x 1.7 miles) will kick off at 8:00 a.m. After that, around 8:45 a.m., begins the 7.2 mile race, the Heavy 1/2 (14.4 miles), the Marathon+ (26.7 miles), or 50K. You can choose to run the 3.4 mile race first and one of the other races after....just to get in a little more dirt!
You can also make it a multisport weekend by competing in the XTERRA Hickory Knob Triathlon the next day! Discounted rates are offered for those who opt to do more than one event.
